COVID-19 In-Building Technology Use 

Technology use is available for up to one hour a day. Reservations are not required. This includes the use of a computer, scanner, fax machine, copier, and/or printer. One-hour and 15-minute express terminals are both available for use. Please sanitize your workstation before and after use. Learn more.

General Computing Services

To meet the educational, informational, and recreational needs of the community, we provide free access to the internet and various productivity software to residents and visitors.

  • Public desktop computers with internet access
  • iMac computers with digital creativity software
  • High-speed WiFi access (including extended parking lot coverage)

  • Printers (black-and-white and color)
  • Wireless printing to our printers
  • Free printing for library cardholders (up to 30 cents/day)

  • Zoom for viewing/listening only (webcam/mic not available)

Using a Public Computer

  • To use a public computer, enter your library card number. If you do not have a library card, you may log in with any combination of letters, numbers, and punctuation. You'll need this login if you're printing something.
  • Printing: We offer 30 cents free printing per day for library card users (this is equivalent to three black and white pages or one color page). Additional black and white pages are available at 10 cents per copy and color pages at 30 cents per copy, payable at the printing stations.
  • Breaks: You may leave your workstation for up to 15 minutes during a session by locking the computer. After 15 minutes, you may lose your computer access.

Wireless Configuration & Setup

Enjoy free high-speed WiFi access at the Library. Use the "MCPL_Wireless" network to connect to our network.

You can also check out wireless mobile hotspots from our Library of Things for internet access anywhere.

Children's computers are available as well. The websites that are linked from the children's services webpages have been selected to reflect the interests and informational needs of the children served. Learn more.

Our Advanced Workstations in Education (AWE) early literacy stations are not just another computer––they include more than 45 educational software packages spanning seven curricular areas! Educational titles in each curriculum area are chosen for age appropriateness, educational value, replay interest, ease of use, entertainment value, graphics and sound, discovery and growth, and much more. The interface is imaginative and intuitive and encourages exploration by drawing kids into a learning adventure. AWEs are safe, fun, educational, and hassle-free, captivating kids and enabling them to explore immediately. Lost & Found Items

Any items left at the public computers by patrons will be taken to the "lost and found" on the second floor of the Main Library or the customer assistance desk at Ellettsville.
